The FM Team of the Year Award recognises an exemplar FM team that has delivered innovation and value to their organisation and customers. This year’s Team of the Year excelled in their delivery of FM, planning and executing effective service strategies, team building, collaboration and successful operating performance, achieving outstanding results and ensuring customer satisfaction.
WINNER
> Carillion Services – Northwood Headquarters
Carillion Northwood HQ team set themselves the task of creating the UK’s premier military headquarters. After celebrating the 10 th anniversary of the 25-year Private Finance Initiative with the MoD for Hard and Soft building operations and maintenance FM services, the team have achieved great successes across their service delivery and deserve the highest accolades for their achievements.
The critical Level 1 Security site in Middlesex employs over 2,200 military and civilian personnel employed on site from across 30 nationalities and commands all of the UK Defence’s joint military operations, and Team Carillion’s one team approach, which includes all stakeholders, ensured no loss of operation during a 60% construction programme and continues to implement seamless FM throughout the high number of MoD change requests.
Team Carillion have been recognised by the Authority as playing a key part in supporting a Level 1 security site that is critical to the defence of the UK and our Defence partners, as well as improving the output in terms of introducing innovative and cutting-edge practices.

> Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Facilities Management Client Unit
The Facilities Management Client Unit (FMCU) was created by the FCO in 2008 to manage the FM outsourced contracts across the UK and overseas, to help resolve complex and varied issues and be accountable for targets and operations.
The FMCU ultimately achieved their goals for Vision 20:20, which included a global investment program and key FM contracts, by working as “one team” and sharing communication, knowledge and experience across key stakeholders, as well as providing support and ownership within the team. The team are well-deserved runners-up for their commitment to each other and the customer experience, by crafting long-lasting relationships that ensure the team is effective and innovative.

> UBS Integrated Facility Management
The UBS’ Integrated Facility Management (IFM) team also earned a highly commended award for their delivery of the UBS workplace vision, which involved a move of 6,500 employees.
The move to 5 Broadgate would not have been possible without the dedication and commitment of the UBS IFM team. Initiatives included creating a “one team” philosophy and culture to break down barriers between the client and suppliers, a “TogetherNow” engagement program to raise the profile of FM in the workplace and to ensure all services were delivered under the most sustainable practices.
